THE STATE'S PLAN:
Suburban Style Buildings
at the Edge of Trenton's Downtown

Picture
In September 2016, Governor Christie announced a major development plan for new State office buildings in Trenton:
- Demolish the Taxation Building (West State & Barrack Streets) and relocate 1,000 state employees from a West State Street location to a site at the very edge of downtown
- Demolish the Health and Agriculture Buildings (South Warren Street / John Fitch Way)
- Build corporate park style offices on Willow Street (currently parking lots)

- Build corporate park style offices on the Health and Agriculture (South Warren) site

These plans will disperse state employees, depriving downtown businesses of their much needed patronage, and stymie efforts to build a denser, walkable, transit-oriented downtown in accordance with State and City plans. Explore the current plan, see our alternative vision, and get involved!
